Description of Convergence Project - 2009

Convergence Project 2009 Due Dates:

The project will culminate in an investigative article or a broadcast segment. final copy of your investigative article or a video link to your broadcast.
Requirements for the article are as follows: ·
  • headline/title, byline, lead (5 W’s and H where applicable), a clear focus for the whole story; quotations (no partial sentences) with proper attributions; photos, illustrations (properly credit photos); no personal opinions may be expressed.
  • Your article must include one newspaper/magazine or other print publication source, one online resource from reputable media platform, and two interviewed sources (only 1 may be affiliated with Rocky Hill). Your article should be approximately two-three pages with 1.5 spacing in Times New Roman font (12 point)
Requirements for the broadcast are as follows:
  • A title for the segment, a clearly focused lead-in which presents the topic and addresses the 5W’s and H, quotations (no partial sentences) with proper attributions; integrated photos or illustrations (properly credited; no personal opinions may be expressed;
  • Your broadcast must include one newspaper/magazine or other print publication source, one online resource from reputable media platform, and two interviewed sources (only 1 may be affiliated with Rocky Hill).
  • Your broadcast should be approximately five minutes in length.
Here are the due dates for our project:

Friday, 02.27.09: Your blog must be active contain a brief statement of your topic, as well as your one page of preliminary research notes.

Friday, 03.06.09: Your blog must be updated to reflect your progress.
Your website must also include a personal audio clip or video link to an original interview.

Friday, 03.13.09: Your blog must be updated to reflect your progress.
Your website must include examples of original photojournalism (incorporated into the site or as links) or an additional audio clip.

Friday, 04.03.09: Your blog must be updated to reflect your progress.
Your website must include a rough draft of your article or a rough script of your broadcast.

Monday, 04.06.09: Your blog should include a reflection on your entire project and website must include a final copy of your investigative article or a video link to your broadcast.
